If you want to design the smallest, professional armguard in the world, there can only be one motto: " Reduce it to the max "; i.e. the art of removing everything superfluous and working out the quintessence of the best.
Of course, this is not for beginners, the wg. their lack of shooting technique, still need extensive protection.
That is why the EVERTS Armguard PRO is reserved for advanced and mature archers. Your technique only requires protection from the tendon in a very limited area of the forearm. We wanted to do justice to this with a special design.
WHAT HAS BEEN OPTIMIZED?
The length
The aim was to design the Armguard Pro as short as possible while providing full protection. Tests have shown that 96mm can be quite sufficient. With a calculated reserve surcharge, we then settled on 114 mm, so that an advanced or experienced shooter or professional is well protected.
The width
The string not only shoots forward, but also swings sideways, especially when releasing the finger. And that varies from shot to shot. After extensive testing, we came to the conclusion that a minimum width of 25mm should not be undercut.
The height
It is very important that the string is guided as gently as possible along the armguard when it makes contact, so that there is no more unrest in the string. This requires a design that is as flat as possible but high enough to protect when the string oscillates. Through a large number of prototypes, we were able to determine the desired, necessary height. It is extremely important that the armguard offers as little frontal area as possible on the side facing the elbow. And the tape needs to be as close as possible to the face on that side so that there can be contact pressure built up for a snug fit. Both measures then ensure that the bowstring cannot dip under the armguard.
Material & design
The EVERTS Armguard PRO guarantees the best wearing comfort with its minimalist, airy design.
It can be inconspicuous or colorful - depending on the preference of its wearer.
Itching and sweating under arm protection in summer are no-go's. For this reason alone, the motto was to design it as airy as possible, which we then implemented with bars and built-in air chambers below the Armguard PRO . Of course, it must also be able to withstand being shot at by a tendon, and this is where – in addition to the shape – the material and the wall thickness come into play. We have chosen a selected polymer mixture that is convincing across the board: hardness to absorb the tendon and sufficient elasticity to prevent material breakage. We have worn out several prototypes in fracture and impact tests in order to obtain the desired compound.
